Yellow rainfall warning raised over Metro Manila, 8 Luzon areas
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) issued a yellow rainfall warning over Metro Manila and eight provinces in Luzon on Friday morning, due to Tropical Storm Crising and the southwest monsoon, or locally known as habagat.

Based on its 8 a.m. advisory, a yellow warning level (be alert), with an approximate rainfall of between 7.5 millimeters (mm) and 15 mm, is expected in the following areas in the next three hours:
- Metro Manila
- Quezon
- Bataan
- Laguna
- Rizal
- Cavite
- Bulacan
- Batangas
- Zambales (Olongapo, Subic, San Marcelino, Castillejos, San Antonio, San Narciso, San Felipe)
Flooding in flood-prone areas is possible, the weather bureau said.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain with occasional heavy rain is affecting the following areas and may persist within three hours:
- Pampanga
- Nueva Ecija
- Tarlac
- Zambales (Botolan, Cabangan, Candelaria, Iba, Masinloc, Palauig, Santa Cruz)
Pagasa earlier reported that, as of 8 a.m., Tropical Storm Crising was last spotted about 250 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

The tropical storm has maintained its strength, packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph. It is moving northwest at 15 kph.
Crising may make landfall over mainland Cagayan or the Babuyan Islands on Friday afternoon or evening, said Pagasa. /jpv
