Crising forecast to intensify into tropical storm Friday morning
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Depression Crising is expected to intensify into a tropical storm by early Friday morning, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Crising is currently packing winds of up to 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of ip to 70 kph, Pagasa said in its bulletin late Thursday night.
“Cruising is forecast to reach Tropical Storm category tomorrow early morning. It will continue to intensify until it reaches Severe Tropical Storm category by Saturday morning or afternoon,” the weather agency said.
The tropical depression was last spotted 460 km east of Baler, Aurora.

It was moving northwest at 15 kph.
“Crising will move generally northwestward over the next 24 hours. A landfall scenario over mainland Cagayan or Babuyan Islands by tomorrow afternoon or evening is possible,” Pagasa added. /gsg
